Fenland League triumph for Otters
Diss Otters were triumphant during what was a busy weekend for the club.
Over at Newmarket on Saturday in a Fenland League meeting, the Otters were on top from start to finish,
From the 47 events, Diss won on 29 occasions, including during the traditional finale – the cannon relay.
It meant Otters racked up a table-topping 182 points, followed by Bottisham (161), First Strokes (154) and St Neots (124).
The Otters have now progressed through to the second round of the competition, which is due to take place in September.
Meanwhile, on the same evening, an Otters squad competing in the Midsummer Madness Gala at the UEA Sportspark in Norwich achieved 31 new personal best times and 12 county qualifying times for 2019.
On Sunday, a squad headed for Crown Pools in Ipswich for the July Surprize Gala, with 46 individual swims producing 26 new personal best marks and another host of county championship qualification times.
And also on Sunday, Adam Lelean, Sally Lelean and Callum Blair took part in the Cambridge Mill Open Water 2.5km event, with the latter finishing second in his age group thanks to his time of 43 minutes.
