Harleston shoppers bag themselves a vital life skill from St John’s Ambulance
People were given the chance to find out how to save a life on last Saturday.
Volunteers from St John Ambulance were at the East of England Co-op in Harleston, giving shoppers the opportunity to pick up some vital skills, alongside their weekend shop.
Robert Wisken said the day had gone really well and raised £287 through donations.
“People got to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator and were really interested in the work we do,” he said.
“These skills are so important for everyone to know how to do, and they could really save lives.
“We thank everyone who came, saw our demonstrations and donated. Without public support, we would not be able to do what we do.”
The day marked the launch of the charity’s South Norfolk Network, which has seen the adult and youth volunteer units based in Diss and Mulbarton merge to create a more diverse group to provide first aid and training in the community.
