A Happy To Chat bench has been installed just inside the West Harling Road gate, East Harling

A community is standing, or rather sitting, together to help people through challenging times.

A Happy to Chat bench has been installed in East Harling thanks to Harling Parish Council.

A spokesperson said: “As part of our commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing, and in line with our efforts as a Breckland Mindful Village, we are supporting friends and neighbours through challenging times.

“The bench is on the recreation ground, just inside the West Harling Road gate, offering a peaceful spot with a lovely view across our beautiful green space. Whether you want to sit with a friend for a chat, enjoy a quiet moment to yourself, or strike up a conversation with someone new, this bench is here for you.”

The initiative was supported of County Broadband, who provided funding for the bench. Breckland District Council also provided a plaque.
