The incidents occurred between November 23, 2021, and February 19, 2022.

Police were alerted by US Homeland Security after a victim’s boyfriend disclosed to local law enforcement that Brennan had contacted them via Snapchat.

He sent threatening messages and demanded indecent images of the victim. Investigations into Brennan’s Snapchat account identified further victims.

Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Kat Baldwin said: "This case involved the predatory sexual behaviour of an adult over children.

"These offences can often leave a mark on their victim for the rest of their lives, so I am pleased to see this case has now come to a positive conclusion."

Detective Sergeant Pete Wilson, said: "The sentence passed by the court reflects the severity of the defendant's actions and the threat that he poses and will ensure that the victims and public will remain safe from this individual in the future.

"We hope the court case will help to bring some closure for the victims and their families."
