Around 65 children were entertained at a free party at the Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary earlier this month.
Sponsors included Bossy Boots shop, Semere Recreation Ground Charity, Sam’s Local Shopper, The Falcon Pub, The Plantation Cafe, Timber Windows Norfolk and Ed’s Plaice mobile chip van.
This helped provide disco entertainment, a snow machine, and a visit from Olaf the snowman from Disney’s Frozen. Children also had the chance to take part in gingerbread decorating and lantern making, all in aid of a parade for the centre’s Christmas lights switch-on event, which took place on December 5.
Children walked with their lanterns and jingly bells from Bossy Boots shop to the centre where MP Richard Bacon switched on the lights, while there was also an Evening Inn pub night with a supervised kids club where the children could get involved in Christmas crafts.
A spokesperson for the Pennoyer Centre said: “The idea of the free Christmas party was so that the centre and local businesses who enjoy support from the community all year round to give something back and provide a magical start to the Christmas season for families in the two villages. Christmas is increasingly expensive so to be able to offer a free event for all to enjoy is a privilege and our heartfelt thanks go to all the business and volunteers who have made the event happen.”
