Youngsters pack a punch to showcase their growing talent
Attleborough Boxing Club fighters showcased their growing talent in the club’s fifth annual spring home show.
A capacity crowd were treated to 18 bouts of knockout action with boxers travelling from 14 clubs across the country, as far afield as Brighton.
Charlie Connaughton and Lewis Nagle kicked the evening off, both performing well in their skills bouts, while brothers Tyler and Lewis Bolingbroke did the double, both winning against tough opposition.
There was also split decision wins for Rhys Dolan and Morgan Flynn in close bouts while Matt Croxall lost to tough opposition in Colchester’s C Reed.
In further joy in the ring, Marc Riley, James Pearce, Milo Clay, Connor Holloway, and Micheal Jordan also all walked away unanimous winners.
Riley out-pointed Billericay’s L Hasson in a close bout, Clay in a controlled performance out-pointed a tough opponent in Finchley’s A McDonag, Holloway out powered Chelmsford’s M Suanders in an all-out battle and Jordan finished the evening in style in a hard-hitting battle against Mayland’s B Weston.
Misha Vasiljev just lost out on a split decision after showing class workmanship against Stamford’s M Sameer, but he was awarded the bout of the night accolade for his stellar performance.
The home boxer of the night award was presented to Pearce for his strong display showcasing an immense work rate against Colchester’s J Blackman.
The club’s next show will see them go to Thetford on May 30. Tickets costing £12 each go on sale next week and are available by phoning 01953 457329 or online from www.leapinghare.org
