Wright in top form in first round

Peter Wright will face Ronny Huybrechts of Belgium in round two of the PDC World Darts Championship on Saturday following his straight-sets first round victory.

The Mendham thrower averaged 98.80 in a3-0 triumph over Welsh debutant Gerwyn Price at Alexandra Palace on Friday.

Snakebite, who is ranked as world number five told pdc.tv: “I’ve had an up and down year, swapping my darts around and stuff like that, but now I’m feeling a lot more settled.

“I’ve got some time off now to practice more and get myself on top form.”
