Fiske set to race for world title glory

Diss-based driver Danny Fiske has secured his place on the grid for this year’s National Hot Rod Championship of the World at Foxhall Stadium between June 27-28.

Going into the final round at Aldershot Raceway last Sunday, Fiske sat in 16th position of the English rounds, having missed four rounds earlier in the year and the possible chance of non–qualification.

However, in pouring rain he managed a ninth and two second places, narrowly missing out on taking the win in the day’s grand final which was enough to secure his Nimbus/Meede/DP Fiske motorsports Vauxhall’s place in the sport’s most prestigious title of the racing season.

Fiske’s father Derek himself is a former Hot Rod World Champion, having taken the title in 1975, and prior to that was a four-time British Superstox Championship title holder.

nFiske will first warm up for the event by competing in the 2015 Motorsport News Thunder 500 in the ‘Foxhall Bowl’ tomorrow as he takes on some stiff competition in battle for the Motorsport News Trophy
