Harleston Town score six goals again away at Mattishall
Harleston Town picked up from where they left off by recording a 6-2 win over hosting Mattishall at the weekend.
Pre-lockdown, Nicky Howell and Jon Abbott’s side had scored six times in back-to-back Anglian Combination Premier Division matches.
And they made it a hat-trick on Saturday, with Sam Borrer and Ryan Crisp both helping themselves to braces.
Nathan Page and Scott Roberts also scored for Harleston, who remain third in the table, three points adrift of table-topping Caister with two games in hand.
Town will aim to continue their unbeaten start to the 2020/21 campaign on Saturday when they play host to Beccles Town (1.30pm).
* Having gone into the break in good form, Long Stratton suffered a 2-0 defeat at Waveney on Saturday.
Sam Clay scored both goals for the hosts, sealing a result that leaves Stratton 10th in the standings.
Adam Burroughs’ men will travel to the side directly above them – Mundford – on Saturday (1.30pm).
* Scole United’s scheduled home encounter with Wroxham Reserves was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Scole, who will welcome Watton United to Ransome Avenue in the Norfolk Senior Cup on Saturday (1.15pm), have also made a couple of additions.
Right-back Charlie Hitch has come in on dual registration from Mildenhall Town, while defender Marc Pearce has signed from Earsham.
* Attleborough Town moved up to second in the Division One table thanks to Saturday’s 4-1 victory at the expense of Sprowston Athletic.
Jak Fuller and Jordan Lake were among the goals for Martyn Fuller’s side, who are two points behind leaders Heacham having played a game more.
The two sides will meet again at Attleborough on Saturday in the Norfolk Senior Cup (1.15pm).
* East Harling had to settle for a 2-2 draw from Saturday’s home clash with Norwich United Under-21s.
Shaun Hunsdon and Luke Woods put Harling two goals up, but they were pegged back by the visitors.
The Greens (7th) travel to Gorleston Reserves on Saturday (1.30pm).
