Garboldisham Christmas coffee morning at St John the Baptist Church raises £400

An annual Christmas coffee morning, complete with a much-loved nativity display, brought Garboldisham residents together at St John the Baptist Church.

The event, organised by members of the congregation, raised £400 for the church.

Bobbie Knowles, who attended the event, said: “The coffee morning was organised by the church and was a great success.

“The social committee of St John the Baptist puts the nativity display together, which attracted many people from far and wide.

“The beautiful nativity set on the small altar was a gift to the community from Diana Sheppard in memory of our late vicar the Rev Derek Sheppard, who was dearly loved by so many people in the village.

“We now also have a life-size stable and figures lit up outside church for people to come and see, which were a gift from Ann and Roger Cook.”
