Diss salon staff hit Harleston and Occold roads to raise money for charity
Beauty salon staff are using their excess hours to put their best foot forward in the fight against cancer.
Harleston based Rachel Bettinson, 43, owner of the Half Moon salon in Mount Street in Diss, decided to challenge herself and two colleagues, Tanya Hutson, of Occold, and Ellie Walpole, of Harleston, to run 300km between them in March, with the group being entirely new to running.
The plan was formed as a way to keep active after the salon, which Miss Bettinson has owned since 2000, had to temporarily close due to Covid-19.
“We wanted to keep ourselves active and raise money for Breast Cancer Support along the way”, she said.
“For all of us, this has effected someone we know and, in these difficult times, charities like these easily get forgotten. We’ve already surpassed our first target, with £550 raised, so now we’re aiming for £750.”
