Consultation over new care home

Proposals for a new care home in Diss will undergo a public consultation later this month.

The plans for the development off Nelson Road by East Anglia Care Homes comprise 81, one and two-bedroom flats with communal facilities.

Homeowners will be able to choose from services such as help with shopping, laundry, cleaning, lifts to the surgery and personal care. The home will also have its own minibus.

Managing director Bharat Raghu said extra care housing was aimed at people who needed just a little support to carry on living independently in their own homes.

A consultation takes place in the youth and community centre in Shelfanger Road on Wednesday, August 28, from 4pm to 8pm.
