A fire crew remains at the scene after a huge blaze in Gislingham last night.

A shed caught on fire at 8.18pm, containing “several tonnes” of logs and about 750 litres of diesel.

In total 13 fire crews from both Suffolk and Norfolk attended the scene, in Mellis Road.

The outbuilding, roughly 20m by 5m in size, was also thought to contain some lawn mowers.

Crews used aerial platforms and hose reel jets to fight the fire, which was still being fought until 11pm.

At 6am this morning a “large amount” of wood was still burning, with firefighters using cooling spray to tackle it.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said a crew is still at the scene, dampening down the area.

No one was reported to have been hurt in the incident.
