PICTURES: Buyer bonanza at first Fair Green Brocante
Diss was whipped up into something of a French fever on Saturday when the Fair Green Neighbourhood Association hosted its first ever Brocante.
Defined as a car boot sale characterised by its sheer mix of goods up for grabs — including vintage clothing, jewellery, china, tools, collectables and furniture —hundreds visited Fair Green in a bid to bag a bargain.
Some of the 31 stallholders travelled from as far as Norwich and Essex to sell, with funds raised going to the association which maintains Fair Green as a community space.
Mark Atkinson, treasurer of the association, told the Diss Express: “We were extremely pleased indeed, obviously with the weather in the week we had, we were very lucky. The feedback we had from everyone, from stallholders to those browsing that I spoke to was very positive.
“We are very grateful for all the support we have had.”
The association will provide parking and a car boot for the Diss Cyclathon on Sunday, June 19.
