The organiser of a charity football match in aid of a Stradbroke woman who died from cancer says he is “over the moon” after £838.78 was raised.

A Stradbroke High School class of 2007 defeated a 2006 side 4-2 last Saturday. Funds raised, through a raffle held at the Queens Head, Stradbroke, after donations of prizes from local business, and a cake sale by Jenny Nicholls, will be donated Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research for Stephanie Lummis, who passed away from Hodgkin’s disease in 2010.

Organiser Charlie Reeves thanked all those who supported the event and added: “I’m over the moon to be honest with how it went. It was a fantastic day.”
