New minibus puts Diss home in driving seat

A Diss care home has taken delivery of a new minibus, after a successful fundraising campaign.

De Lucy House, in Victoria Road, managed to raise £14,000 through a host of activities, which included an Easter Egg hunt, a car wash, a triathlon, cake sales and its summer and Christmas fairs.

Care home manager Lauren Tubby said: “All the residents and staff are excited to receive the minibus.

“We are forever grateful to those that have helped us achieve the purchase.

“The residents have been planning their favourite destinations to visit and can’t wait to venture out.”

The fundraising initiative also included donations from families of the home’s residents, with one supporter completing a 100-mile bike ride for the cause.

The 60-bed care home, which specialises in residential and dementia care, received the minibus last week.
