GCSE students at Hartismere School and Harleston Sancroft Academy delighted with 'impressive' results

Students performed better than some had predicted upon collecting their GCSE results yesterday.

Just over three-of GCSE grades for 16-year-olds in across the country were at grade 4 or above, up from 69 per cent in 2019, when formal exams last took place, and down from 79.1 per cent in 2021, in line with the policy intent set out last year.

It was the first time since the pandemic that students had sat summer GCSE examinations, and many experts had predicted that two years of disrupted schooling would result in lower grades.

Hartismere School, in Eye, reported an “impressive set of results”.
