Plans put forward to turn the former Two Brewers pub and Number 11 restaurant in Diss into home
A Diss former pub could be turned into housing under new plans.
The proposals lodged with South Norfolk Council could see the old Two Brewers in Diss transformed into a home after sitting empty for several years.
The building in St Nicholas Street dates back to the 16th century and was most recently occupied by the Number 11 restaurant, which closed in 2022.
The venue offered living accommodation on the first floor for many years while it operated as a pub and its new owners seek to change the use of the ground floor from commercial to residential in order for the property to be used as a single dwelling.
The plans would see the Grade II listed bar and restaurant space turned into a living room and kitchen, in addition to the three existing bedrooms upstairs.
The property was purchased by George Kent Webb, the applicant, after it went to auction last year following a series of ‘silly offers’ for the freehold.
South Norfolk Council’s planning committee will decide whether to approve the application in due course.
