Special events will be held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 95th Bomb Group arriving in Suffolk.

Dubbed the 'Friendly Invasion', the events will be in honour of American servicemen arriving in Horham and the surrounding villages on June 15, 1943, during World War Two.

The events will be held by the 95th Bomb Group Heritage Association, who operate from faithfully restored air base buildings in Denham, Eye.

On Saturday, June 16, the 13th Combat Wing Convoy, featuring military vehicles, will assemble at the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum at Thorpe Abbotts at 9.30pm for breakfast.

The convoy will take a leisurely drive on to Parham Airfield Museum for a 1pm lunch and arrival at Horham's Red Feather Club for 5pm.

The club will be open in the evening with food and music.

The following day will see the museum open from noon to 4pm, and visitors are invited to enjoy a picnic and listen to music from vintage singing trio, The Knightingales.

Performing at 1940s-themed events up and down the United Kingdom, The Knightingales are a harmony trio performing a mix well-known classics from the era and modern music with a vintage twist.

There will also be a service at St Mary's Church at 11am, featuring a wreath laying ceremony.
