Durrants estate agency launches charitable foundation
Charities, groups and organisations are set to benefit from a new fundraising foundation set up by Durrants estate agents.
The company, which has branches in Diss and Harleston, has set up the Durrants Charitable Foundation to which people can bid for either sponsorship, or help with fundraising.
Having already been involved in helping projects within the community over the past few years, the foundation has been established to further its aim to support organisations and charitable causes.
Mark Mugliston, sales manager at the Diss office, said: “In the past two years, the Diss branch has sponsored many people, such as Diss pantomime, Diss Rugby Club, Fressingfield Bowls Club and Palgrave community centre.
“We also raised money ourselves at Diss Carnival for Diss First Responders, which provides life-saving first aid to the most rural parts of Norfolk.
“The Harleston branch has sponsored people such as Harleston Football Club, Harleston Magpies and Harleston Primary Academy, as well as Archbishop Sancroft High School.
“This has been through a mix of sponsorship from our own pot of funds as well as raising money ourselves to donate to different causes. As a whole, the company raised £2,500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.”
Durrants, established in 1853, which also has a branch in Southwold, auction rooms in Beccles and an office in Mayfair, London, is one of the oldest estate agents and auctioneers in the region.
“With a long-standing trading history with market towns in Norfolk and Suffolk, we have made it our business to know our local community and to learn and grow with them,” said Mr Mugliston.
“The foundation is a way of simplifying how we go about supporting groups and organisations. People can just simply look up our foundation web page and put their case forward.
“We are always open to ideas from people looking for help, either through sponsorship or help with fundraising. We are hoping to offer a little support to lots of people.”
