Harleston event at The Cap pub brings day of fun for families while supporting local causes
A sunny day filled with family fun helped to raise money for local charities.
Spring Fest, which was held at The Cap pub in Harleston on May 4, brought people together for a day of food trucks, music, face painting and crafting, after being organised by Harleston Ladies Circle.
The all-day event raised money for a number of local causes, such as Fressingfield Library, Alburgh with Denton Primary School and Exchange 2 Youth Club.
Kerrie Foster, fundraising officer for Harleston Ladies Circle, described the day as a real success, adding: “We made more than £4,000 on the day, which will be shared between several local causes, and I would say we probably had more than 350 visitors through the day.
“We’re really pleased with that, and were fortunate enough to have some really nice weather on the day, too. We’re now looking to make this an annual event and are already looking at dates for next year.
“It’s important to give credit to our sponsors, which include Ampersand, Handsomes of Harleston and Pepperells, among others.
“I also want to thank Yvette Tyler, who runs The Cap and who helped me come up with the plan, and everyone who came along and helped make it a success.”
Harleston Ladies Circle meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and is open to anyone aged from 18 to 45.
