A11 car fire causes road closure between Spooner Row and Attleborough and diversion route

There is a diversion route in place on the A11 following a car fire which has closed a section of the road.

Fire crews from Wymondham and Earlham attended the scene, southbound between the B1172 (Spooner Row) and the B1077 (Attleborough) just after 12.20pm.

The incident was closed with the crews having put out the fire at 12.52pm.

But due to damage on the road surface needing to be assessed, National Highways say a diversion route has been put in place.

This is as follows:

• At Thickthorn roundabout take the B1172 to the Park and Ride roundabout.
• Take the 2nd exit onto the B1172 through Hethersett to Norwich road roundabout.
• Take the 1st exit and follow signage for the A11.
• Re-join the A11 at Turtles lane interchange.
