The WARTS dramatics group will unleash three more performances of its Christmas production tonight and tomorrow at Botesdale Village Hall.

Written by acclaimed children’s author Julia Donaldson, best known for The Gruffalo, King Grunt’s Cake combines elements of pantomime with amusing characters, songs, special effects and costumes into its storyline.

It tells the narrative of roller-skating King Grunt, whose 88th birthday is about to be ruined by skulduggery when bad chef Grease injects the birthday cake with a sleeping draft, leaving good chef Yum and place cat Lola to go on a quest to find the antidote.

The performances are tonight at 7.30pm, and tomorrow at 2.30pm, and then again at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8, or £5 for under 16’s. They are available from Wortham Post Office, the Redgrave shop, Hilltop Hardware in Botesdale or by calling 01379 687580.
