Mark Williamson will captain Diss Cricket Club again in next year's Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division

After two successful seasons, Diss Cricket Club have confirmed that Mark Williamson will continue as the first-team captain in 2019.

Williamson inherited the role two years ago after Diss’ relegation to the Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division One.

Under his guidance the Rectory Meadow-based outfit bounced back to the Premier Division at the first time of asking and followed that up by consolidating in 2018 with a sixth-placed finish.

Lewis Taylor, who scored almost 500 runs for Diss last season, has been appointed as Williamson’s deputy.

Meanwhile, Neil Weedon has stepped up to be the new captain of Diss’ second team, with Stuart Taylor taking up the role of vice-skipper.

Ross Stannard is the new skipper of the thirds alongside his vice-captain Andy Paine.

It has also been comfirmed that Douglas Young and Andy Horobin will be continuing their work as chairman and vice-chairman respectively.
