Diss Town bolster attack with signing for former striker Ashley Rankin from Cornard United

Recently-appointed Diss Town manager Steve Eastaugh has boosted his attacking options with the signing of Ashley Rankin.

The forward, who has joined from fellow Thurlow Nunn League First Division North side Cornard United, had a spell with Diss last season, during which he scored two goals in seven appearances.

He is now back at Brewers Green Lane, and is set to make his second debut for the Tangerines during Saturday's home clash against Needham Market Reserves (3pm).

Eastaugh said: "We needed a forward that likes to run in behind and get on the end of crosses because that is how we want to play.

"Ryan Fuller is our top scorer and he is still suspended for another three games. Ryan not being there has an impact on what we want to do so we needed some help, which Ashley will provide."

Rankin featured on total of 13 occasions for Cornard, scoring two goals in the process.
