Aldis steps down at Framlingham

Mel Aldis has decided that the time is right for him to step down as manager of Framlingham Town.

Aldis took charge at Badingham Road seven years ago and under his guidance the club has risen from the Touchline Suffolk & Ipswich League into the Thurlow Nunn League set-up.

Next season is due to be the club's first ever at Step 5 after their promotion campaign of 2017/18, but Aldis will not be in the dugout.

The experienced manager, who works in France, does not feel that he can give enough time to meet with the demands of managing an Eastern Counties Premier Division club.

He wrote on Twitter earlier this evening: "It's been a fantastic 7 years...but the time is right...who knows what the future holds."
