FA Vase next on the agenda for Diss Town

The big games continue for Diss Town tomorrow when they host Fakenham Town in the first round qualifying of the Buildbase FA Vase (3pm).

In his four games at the Brewers Green Lane helm, new boss Michael King has already overseen a couple of Emirates FA Cup ties and a local derby.

And it promises to be another high stakes encounter at the weekend, with the visiting Ghosts having racked up three wins from three in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North.

“After Tuesday night (2-1 win over Debenham) you might think there is going to be a day or two to switch off, but your mind automatically switches straight to Saturday,” said King.

“They are the joint leaders in our league as well so it is going to be another tough one.

“We’re not complaining though. Matches like these are why you want jobs like this.

“They’re a team that many fancy to do well in our league, but obviously this is a one-off game and anything can happen.

“It will give us a good indication of where we are at right now.

“It’s still very early days and we remain a very new squad, but we are happy with how things are going.

“Hopefully we can continue to build with a good results on Saturday.”

The tie will mark the final game of Max Kirkby’s absence, while Harry Creamer (holiday) will also be missing.
