The attacker scored five goals from his 16 appearances for Harleston last term before moving on to Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side Gorleston.

Russell found the net on six occasions for the Greens from 14 outings, eight of which were starts.

The striker was particularly impressive in Harleston colours during 2016/17 when he fired in 27 goals from 32 appearances.

And boss Adam Gusterson has added further goals to his squad with the signing of Kyle Baker from top flight Thurlow Nunn outfit Kirkley & Pakefield.

Baker’s return of 16 goals during the previous campaign made him the Suffolk side’s second highest goalscorer.

Gusterson is also confident that he has been able to retain the majority of last season’s squad, though centre-forward Ryan Fuller has opted to jump up a level with Gorleston.

Harleston begin their pre-season fixture schedule with a trip to Caister on July 7.

That is followed by another away match at Yelverton on July 14, followed by a home clash with higher-league Great Yarmouth Town on July 17.

West Wratting away (July 21), Aylsham away (July 24) and Kirkley at home (July 28) complete the programme.
