After recent near misses, Diss Rugby Club have secured promotion from London League Two North East.
The Blues lost in the play-offs during 2014/15, while last year they could only muster a third-place finish.
However, this time around they have clinched the title with two matches left to play following Saturday’s 82-0 thrashing of bottom-of-the-table Campion.
That win, coupled with second-placed South Woodham Ferrers losing at Romford & Gidea Park, means that Dave Smith’s side now hold an unassailable 10-point lead at the top of the table.
South Woodham could still theoretically finish level on points with Diss, but the Mackenders outfit would triumph on the tie-breaker scenario, which first goes on the amount of wins each team has had and then draws.
As a result, Diss’ superior record will see them plying their trade in London League One North next season.
Also on Saturday, the club’s second and third teams secured promotions from their respective division to round off a successful day.
