Diss Ladies I bounce back at first time of asking in Empresa Norfolk Women’s Hockey League Premier Division
After suffering a hefty first defeat of the season in their previous outing, Diss Ladies I got back on track last weekend in the Empresa Norfolk Women’s Hockey League Premier Division.
Having opened up the 2019/20 campaign with four straight wins, newly-promoted Diss were brought back down to earth with a bump on October 19 as they suffered an 8-0 defeat away at neighbouring Harleston Magpies IV, who currently top the standings.
However, they showed no signs of any lingering hangover during the trip to Norwich City IV, coming out on top 2-1 courtesy of goals from Nicki Day and Julie Glover.
It was a result that kept Diss second in the Premier Division table, three points adrift of table-topping Magpies and four clear of Loddon Ladies I in third spot.
Tomorrow they will look to tighten their grip on second place when they entertain Norwich City Ladies III (10.30am).
