Diss Town 'fully committed' to joint bosses Mark Sutcliffe and Matt Coote

Diss Town have thrown their support behind the club's joint managers Mark Sutcliffe and Matt Coote.

Recent results have been disappointing for the Tangerines, who have won none of their last eight Thurlow Nunn League First Division North fixtures – a run that dates back to January 8's 3-1 triumph at Great Yarmouth Town.

However, the club has today moved to quash any suggestions that they are considering a parting of the ways with the duo, who were appointed as Michael King's successors in early September of last year.

A statement read: "Diss Town would like to place on record that we stand by our managers, Mark and Matt. They remain fully committed to the club, and the players are fully committed to them – despite outside influences and many social media accounts suggesting otherwise.

"Timing for the introduction of new management was always going to be difficult. Added to this, senior players have suffered season-ending injuries, plus Covid, as expected, has affected player availability.

"Recent results have been very disappointing, but we have been here before in previous seasons and we believe that our players and management team will come through this difficult period with our support.

"They will continue to ensure the players are coached to a high standard and will also continue to look forwards for the football club.

"Taking on the job part way through the season was a difficult task, given time and the players they want to bring in next season we are confident they will bring success back to Diss Town."

Last night Diss were beaten 1-0 at home by promotion-chasing Sheringham.
