The Castlemen, who have lost their first five games in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, recovered from two goals down to beat Wisbech St Mary in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase.

No goals were scored during the opening 45 minutes at Badingham Road, but lower-league Wisbech put that right shortly after the restart.

Ben Coe broke the deadlock in the 46th minute, with Aidan Sewell adding a second goal 11 minutes later to put the away side in control.

However, Framlingham rallied and managed to haul themselves through, courtesy of goals from Cyrus Thorpe, Matt Aldis and substitute Sinedine Prado Rodriguez in the last half an hour.

Liam Abraham’s men will also be at home against lower-league opposition in the next round when Swaffham Town will be their visitors on September 15.

Of more immediate concern to Framlingham will be tomorrow’s trip to Norwich United as they look to pick up their first league points of the season (3pm).
