A new editorial team has settled in at the Diss Express office.

Waveney Words – a talking newspaper – has moved its fortnightly recording sessions a few doors along Mere Street from Diss Mercury to the Express.

The move became necessary when the Mercury closed its reception offices earlier this month.

Senior reporter Chris Morris said the paper was pleased to offer up some of its office space to such a valuable community asset and “such a dedicated group of people”.

Now in its 32nd year, Waveney Words provides a summary of local news, as well as specialist advice for the blind and partially sighted.

Secretary Trevor Freeborn said that, although he was sorry to lose the group’s connection with the Mercury, having recorded 848 editions at their various offices in the town, the talking newspaper appreciated the warm welcome from the Express.
