Paddock Road vaccination hub in Harleston in need of volunteers

A Harleston vaccination centre is urging more volunteers to come forward to help with a stewarding shortage.

NHS Volunteer Responders has asked residents in the town to offer their time to help out at Paddock Road Surgery – amidst a nationwide surge in demand for volunteers as the vaccine roll-out continues to be scaled up.

Catherine Johnstone CBE, chief executive of the Royal Voluntary Service, stressed the urgency for people to fill more than 2,000 vacant shifts across the country.

She said: “We find ourselves at a crucial moment in the vaccination roll-out.

“There is a real urgency to this, and we are working at pace to get all adults vaccinated as fast as possible.

“There is a particular need for steward volunteers to help the vaccination programme reach communities most in need.

If you are able to help by joining the team, please don’t hesitate. Together, we can get the jabs done.”
