Harleston's big yard sale is a hit with residents as dozens of homes take part
One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure – and that was certainly the case in Harleston at the weekend.
The town hosted its own big yard sale, with bargain hunters scouring neighbouring gardens, before stopping off at the Market Place for refreshments.
The event, which ran all day on Saturday and Sunday, was one of a series of ideas centred on community, and was the brainchild of Harleston Kindness Help Hub .
Wendy Webb was one of 60 households to take part.
She said: “There was a wonderful turnout, with lots of people browsing on both days. We really enjoyed the community spirit in Willow Walk.”
Matt Scade, who helped co-ordinate the yard sale, said he was hopeful it would be the first of many.
He added: “The sale was intended to boost people’s confidence around going outside and visiting the town after lockdown.”
