Sweet treat is a success for Diss chip shop

An award-winning Diss fish and chip cooked up an unusual item last week, which proved to be a big hit.

Ozan Yilmaz, owner of Mr Chips, in Market Place, decided to deep fry Mars Bars on Wednesday and Thursday, selling 187 of them.

He said: “I am always wanting to try things here that are a little different like this and these have been very successful.

"I want to keep bringing more new ideas, as the feedback and interest this time has been very good."

Ozan said at Easter they sold 350 deep fried Creme Eggs and on their Christmas menu they had battered Brussels sprout and pigs in blankets.

He said: "Community is very important to us, the people of Diss are lovely and always happy to try something new.

"The Mars Bars have been so popular that I think we may do it again as it felt like those two days were not enough for people."
