Roydon walkers enjoy The Big Stroll

People with a love for the great outdoors braved the cold this week to take in a little more of the countryside around Roydon.

Called the big stroll, the event was organised by Fox Wood Forest School, a not-for-profit social enterprise aimed at supporting physical and mental wellbeing through adventurous play and exploration, by helping people to connect with, and appreciate, the natural world.

Teacher and director Lou Thompson said: “We do so much for children here at Fox Wood that we thought it would be a good idea to do something for the adults, too, so that they could benefit from being outside and enjoying the fabulous environment around us.”

The group walked about two-and-a-half miles and Lou said they all really enjoyed it.

She said: “The feedback we got was really positive and everyone was chatting as they went.

“Some even pushed themselves to a good pace and were really pleased with what they had done by the end.”
