Harleston's Swan Hotel Market making a big impression
A pop-up market is proving a big hit with shoppers and stallholders alike – after the owners of the Swan Hotel in Harleston opened their doors (and hearts) to a variety of crafts and clothes.
The free-to-enter event is the brainchild of Vicki Eke, who hopes it could serve as a springboard to bigger things for people with a hobby or a small business idea.
The 54-year-old, who runs the hotel with partner Robin Twigge, said: “We have had a steady stream of people coming through since Saturday, so it really is an encouraging start.
“Stalls are here permanently and we are delighted we can give local people a lift.”
The market, which will run from 9am to 2pm daily, is free to enter and features second-hand clothing sold by Dress Code, alongside countless handmade items, including candles and resin items, jams and chutneys, jewellery, printed ceramics, bespoke photography and quilted baubles.
