Pop up Co-op stores in Laxfield while shop undergoes £350,000 makeover
The Laxfield Co-operative Food store will close while a £350,000 transformation takes place.
The shop, in High Street, which also houses the village’s post office, will reopen on August 21 by film and television actress Amanda Donohoe, who has had many film and television roles including stints in L.A. Law and Emmerdale.
A Co-operative pop-up shop will continue to serve the community while the store is closed for its makeover.
The mobile kiosks, measuring 4 metres by 2.3 metres and stocking more than 120 of the community retailer’s most popular grocery products, and will open between 7am-6pm from today until the new store’s makeover is complete.
Leeanne Barrett, Manager of The Co-operative food store in Laxfield, said: “We are delighted to be making such a significant investment in our Laxfield store.
“It will have a fantastic new look and, it is an exciting time for the whole team.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused while our store temporarily closes for its makeover.
“However, I am confident that our new-look store will be a real asset to the community - enabling shoppers to pick up delicious food conveniently and, as a community retailer and a co-operative, it will play its part in local life too.”
