Diss: Man hospitalised with multiple injuries after robbery at Pizza Time on Mere Street




Police are investigating a robbery at Pizza Time which took place in the early hours of this morning.

The incident took place at around 2am on September 21, with four assailants approaching an employee at as he closed the shop.

Money was demanded from the victim before he was attacked and is believed to have also been threatened with a weapon.

The man was punched and kicked in the head and body and sustained multiple injuries in the attack.

He was taken to hospital for treatment after what the police believe was a targeted incident.

Norfolk Police officers cordoned off the area earlier this morning with forensics teams arriving a short-time later.

A spokesperson for the police said: "The victim received punches and kicks to the head and body which resulted in multiple injuries to the face and body and loss of some teeth.

"Our initial enquiries suggest this may have been a targeted attack. Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or who holds CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time.

"Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Emily Bugg at Bethel Street Police Station on 101, quoting the crime reference number 36/66315/20."

Mere Street remained open during the morning and police officers left the scene at around 1pm.
