Park Radio enjoy first ever outdoor broadcast at Diss Mere

There was no ducking DJs and producers from Park Radio last week as they took on their first ever outdoor broadcast from one of Diss’ favourite spots.

Shoppers and passers-by were given a chance to peak behind the curtain of Diss’ best known community radio station, as station manager Chris Moyse hosted his mid-morning show from Mere’s Mouth on Friday, October 8.

“It was ground breaking,” said Mr Moyse, who was joined later in the morning by Diss Town Council leader Simon Olander for an interview. “We’d never done it before, but we’ll certainly be doing it again.

“We were delighted with the reaction, and it was good to meet some of our listeners.

“We’ve not had the chance to meet them during lockdown, and they loved seeing how the programme is made.”

Following last week’s success, Mr Moyse said he hopes to take the station on the road to other towns across the Diss Express area in the months to come.

“We’d like to try it out across Eye and Harleston – the technology has proven it works and we didn’t have any technical glitches, so the possibilities are endless,” he added.
