Jodie Weedon, 11, of Wilby, donates 19 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust

A girl has donated 19 inches of her hair to support children who have lost their own due to cancer treatment or other conditions.

Jodie Weedon, 11, of Wilby, decided to part with her long hair earlier this year as it required too much maintenance – but rather than letting it go to waste, she chose to donate it to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs to children.

Lily J’s Hair Studio in Stradbroke carried out the haircut free of charge.

Owner Laura Hammond and her team volunteered their time while Jodie’s parents, Grace Biggins and Richard Weedon, said they were ‘extremely proud’ of their daughter.

Jodie was apprehensive at first, but she smiled through the process, knowing her donation would make a difference.
