A140 at Long Stratton to be closed tonight and over two weekends in August

A key route will be closed again tonight as essential works for a new bypass are undertaken.

The A140 at Long Stratton will be closed between St Michael’s Road and Brands Lane from 8pm this evening until 6am tomorrow, followed by a full weekend closure from 8pm on August 1 to 6am on August 4.

The closure will enable the remaining tie-in works for the northern roundabout connection to the new bypass to be completed.

Further overnight and weekend closures to begin the southern tie-in at the opposite end of the scheme will take place overnight from 8pm on Friday, August 7 until 6am on August 8, and then all weekend from 8pm on August 8 until 6am on Monday, August 11.

The A140 will be closed to all traffic between Wood Lane and the south site compound during these times.

The diversion will be via Loddon and Bungay on the A47/A146/A143 and vice versa.

Bus services will be affected by the closures and passengers are advised to check before they travel and allow additional time for journeys.
