Snetterton Business Park to be powered up by £3.4 million upgrade
An electricity sub-station is set to power up jobs, businesses and opportunities.
The power upgrade at Snetterton Business Park received grant funding of £3.43 million from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and from pooled Norfolk business rates.
It is part of a wider growth programme initiated and led by Breckland Council to support growth and economic development in the district.
Council leader Sam Chapman-Allen said: “Snetterton is a key site in Breckland that is well located, with access to the Cambridge-Norwich tech corridor.
“This power upgrade will create the conditions for future development, with the new sub-station acting as a catalyst.”
The sub-station has the capacity to deliver 18 megawatts, unlocking growth potential and supporting the delivery the ambition for the site to create 1,750 new jobs and £220 million of private sector investment.
“One of the first of its kind in our area, it really will switch on Snetterton for businesses, for jobs, for investment and for opportunities,” added Cllr Chapman-Allen.
