LETTER - ‘Ritual slaughter is a matter in need of Judicial review’
Published: 09:00, 12 September 2015
Readers of the Diss Express may recall I invited our MPs to enlighten us as to their views on the subject of ritual slaughter and its labelling (Letters, July 24).
As I understand it, the law protects a person’s right to believe in ritual slaughter, if that’s what their religion requires , but is it right for these beliefs to be put into practice without proof it’s for the ‘common good’ or at least does no harm.
Surely this is a constitutional matter requiring a Judicial review.
