LETTER - ‘Could planners please visit Diss instead of pontificating?’

The only problem with the Vinces Road-Victoria Road junction is the continuous stream of traffic leaving Diss.

Those of us wishing to leave Vinces Road have to wait until there is a gap in vehicles travelling east so we can exit. To put a left lane will not alleviate the problem because traffic using the proposed left lane will still have to wait for a gap before they can join Victoria Road and the new lane would be hindered by traffic entering the petrol station. I fail to see what difference a larger mini roundabout would make.

As someone who has to use this junction every time I travel, it is obvious what the problem is and also the solution. Traffic lights which would halt the flow of traffic to enable us to leave Vinces Road.

To spend £500,000 on a solution that will not work is ridiculous. Please would the planners talk to the people who live here rather than pontificate from a distance.
