Mid Suffolk District Council declines to reach decision on plans for traveller site in Horham, near Eye

Leaders have declined to reach a decision on the creation of a traveller site near Eye.

Earlier this month, an application was made to Mid Suffolk District Council, seeking to place four caravans on a patch of land at Finches Meadow, Horham.

It would have housed an extended family of travellers, who are currently homeless.

In its decision notice, the authority declined to determine the application as it would be in breach of planning control as the site has been the subject of two enforcement orders since 2005.

The authority has twice previously declined to reach a decision on creating a traveller site in Horham.
