Kath Vincent retires from Oaklands Care Home in Scole after 21 years of service

Staff and residents at a Scole care home said goodbye to a much-loved domestic assistant this week, after more than 21 years of service.

Kath Vincent, who started at Oaklands Care Home in 2002, was presented with a rose bush and flowers by home manager Alison Fallowfield.

The 68-year-old, who started on the site when it was run by the Adams family and called Scole Lodge, said: “It’s been a pleasure to see Kingsley Healthcare (which now owns the home) grow over the years and Oaklands has really gone from strength to strength, delivering great quality care.”

Mrs Vincent said she was looking forward to seeing more of her grandchildren, but would also be taking up charity work.

She said: “I’ll be coming to the Oaklands’ coffee morning every month to keep up with the residents and see my old colleagues.”
