It is not his first taste of publicity. Joshua Vincent, from Pulham Market, made his initial appearance in the Diss Express about one year ago, when he took his Austin J40 pedal car to the heritage transport fair in Diss.

This week, the six-year-old pupil at Harleston Primary School has appeared on national television as part of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. To be part of the programme is usually a lengthy procedure involving queuing for hours. Joshua, however, was at Cromer Pier for less than five minutes when he was spotted by Radio Norfolk presenter Chrissie Jackson and the TV crew.

Dad Rob said: “They liked the fact the car came with a driver who could talk to the camera. Josh enjoyed the attention and they watched the show in class.”
