Mazes created from thousands of sunflowers providing fun for families including Minecraft-themed labyrinth at Frog’s Farm in Thwaite
Two mazes created from thousands of sunflowers are providing fun for all the family at a farm.
A Minecraft-themed labyrinth is the main attraction at Frog’s Farm, off the A140 in Thwaite, and features a game to collect various materials and craft mystery objects.
Meanwhile, a mini-maze showcases a tractor, with a knowledge trail and items hidden within.
Freddy and Bekkie Vaudrey have owned the farm for six years, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who had to sell it in the 1980s.
She said there are more than 100,000 sunflowers and they started their first mazes in 2021, with different designs such as a frog, platinum jubilee theme and Ipswich Town flag.
“We are really happy with how the farm is looking this year,” said Bekkie.
“The sunflowers have grown to the perfect height, they will be in bloom for August and the site is ready for lots of people to visit and spend time with us – lots of things to keep people busy from newborns to 90 year olds.
“The reaction is overly positive. We create such a happy environment at the farm, it’s hard not to be filled with joy when you are surrounded by such happy flowers.”
New activities this year are an obstacle course, climbing equipment and barrel train on Sundays. Returning favourites include a huge sandpit, bale mountain, ride on tractor arena and a vintage tractor.
They are preparing for the autumn pumpkin patch at the farm, which grows standard arable crops, parsley and other produce from beans to butternut squashes.
The sunflower attraction is open seven days a week, 9.30am until 5pm.
